ALLMI Novice Slinger (HIAB) Training

Slinger Signaller and Banksman training course – 2 Days

Delegates will learn how to work with crane operators by using the proper communication methods i.e. Recognised hand / arm signals to guide and direct loads.

Delegates will also receive Slinger training ensuring they know the correct and safe methods of slinging loads for a range of cranes and lifting equipment.

Course Details

The Slinger / Banksman course content is very comprehensive and so cardholders are able to use their skills when performing Slinger / Signaller duties with any type of lifting equipment, not just lorry loaders. The course includes the following:

  • Responsibilities
  • Legal duties
  • Lifting tackle types and uses
  • Understanding of equipment limitations
  • Weight estimation
  • Care and maintenance of equipment
  • Hooking up procedures
  • Communication and signals

This course will cover both the theory and have practical content.

Who is it for?

Novices new to slinger signaller and banksman responsibilities.

Outcome

The course is accredited by ALLMI and delivered by our ALLMI approved instructors. Certification will be issued at the end of the course upon successful completion of the practical and theory assessments.
