Tubes learns a controlled stop
In his fourth driving lesson with RED Driving School, Soccer AM presenter Tubes was joined by Welsh footballing legend Kevin Ratcliffe as he learned how to perform a controlled stop.
Ratcliffe, who clocked up over 300 appearances for Everton and 59 international caps for Wales, revealed that he passed his test on the first attempt after 12 lessons. He also named his former Welsh team-mate Joey Jones as the worst driver he’s ever come across. Ratcliffe said: “He was mad as a hatter on the field, but wouldn’t even let you eat in his car. He was so safety minded!”.
With the guidance of RED Driving School instructor Jean-Pierre, Tubes completed the controlled stop on his fist attempt. Jean-Pierre described the lesson as ‘excellent’ and Ratcliffe felt it ‘wasn’t bad’, though admitted he was petrified during the lesson!
Tubes is still hoping to pass his driving test so that he can follow the home nations at next summer’s European Championship in France, which begins in June.
With one lesson a month, Tubes’ fifth lessons will be posted across our social media pages in four weeks’ time, so stay tuned!
